Residents at a community forum about improvements to Geneva's downtown said they would not support changes if it meant that sales taxes would go up, according to the Chicago Tribune

City ordinance would allow the city to raise the sales tax for that district in quarter-cent increments up to 1 percent, the Tribune reports, and the city is considering creating a downtown business district.
