The city of Geneva will hold a special meeting Monday, Dec. 12, to take a vote on the city's tax levy.
Last week, the twice, with Mayor Kevin Burns casting the tie votes.
In the first motion, the council took a vote that would have kept the tax levy at the 2010 level. The second motion was to increase the levy by about 2.4 percent. Both ended in a 5-5 tie.
The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting is Dec. 19.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Geneva shall conduct a special meeting on Monday, December 12, 2011 immediately following the Regular Committee of the Whole Meeting at 7:00 p.m. The special meeting will be held at the City Council Chambers,Geneva, Illinois for the purpose of considering the following item(s):
1. Recommend Approval of Ordinance No. 2011-65 for the General 2011 Tax Levy in the Amount of $4,597,063.00
