Joan Holsted Hackett, 87, of Glen Ellyn, died Jan. 5 at Central DuPage Hospital. She actively attended Wheaton Evangelical Free Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart. She is survived by her children, David, Becky and Rachel, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home.
Debra Dawn (Stamper) Zimmerman, 61, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Dec. 28 in Colorado. She was a registered nurse and loved to care for the elderly.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, and their children, Kyle and Brock.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at DW Newcomer's Sons, Johnson County Chapel, Overland Park, Kan. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the same location.
Barbara J. Males, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Jan. 4. She was a Fulbright Scholar and earned a graduate degree at the Sorbonne in Paris.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Rene, her three children and her six grandchildren.
No service is planned, but her ashes will be scattered at sea, as she requested.
Patricia A. Capitelli, 87, died Jan. 1 in Peoria. She enjoyed a 25-year career in education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard. She is survived by her sons, Michael of Tucson, Jerry of Houston, Daniel of Vineland, N.J., Matt of Glen Ellyn and Paul of Chicago; her stepson Steve of Oconomowoc, Wisc.; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, in Peoria.
William "Bill" Muzzey, 67, formerly a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn, died Dec. 27 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Mo. He was a US Army veteran of Vietnam.
He is survived by many siblings, nieces and nephews.
A private burial was held in Mexico, Mo.
John F. Rojc, 89, a 57-year resident of Glen Ellyn, died Jan. 1. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a 33-year employee of Motorola, where he participated in the advent of cellular mobile communications through product designs resulting in multiple patents.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Antoinette; his children, Karl, Kenneth, Kathleen, Karen and Keith; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Monday in Glen Ellyn.
Ruth Bouras Brumme (nee Bormann), 87, a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn, died Dec. 27. She worked at Spraying Systems in Carol Stream for more than 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Bouras; her second husband, Marvin Brumme; and her good friend, Dick Hatting. She is survived by her children, Lenore, John and James, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 4 in Chicago.
Katey Dickinson, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Dec. 22 in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Ron, and her children, Kristi and Aynsley.
Her wish of not having a funeral will be honored.
