Man Found Dead In Pond In Churchill Woods Forest Preserve

GLEN ELLYN, IL — A man was found dead in a pond in Churchill Woods Forest Preserve Thursday evening, according to a spokesperson for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.

Police were called to the pond, near the DuPage River's East Branch, around 5:41 p.m. after the body was spotted by two people who were fishing. Members of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, the Glen Ellyn police and fire departments and the Addison fire department responded to the incident.

Officials say a death investigation is underway, but no foul play was suspected as of early Friday afternoon. Additionally, the man's name had not been released as of Friday afternoon.
