Glenview's Midtown Square Project Recognized For Design

Glenview's Midtown Square Project Recognized For Design
A Chicago-based urban design group has recognized a new mixed-use development under construction in Glenview as exemplary for its design, according to the  Glenview Announcements.

The Congress for New Urbanism, which promotes walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods, recognized Midtown Square as the recipient of its "Best Block" prize, noting the proximity to public transportation and high density of residents, the  Announcements  reports.

McShane Construction began work on Midtown Square in August 2013, at the site of the village's former fire department headquarters. The four-story, 138-unit mixed-use project will have 138 apartments on the top three flours, with 10,500 square feet of retail space and 4,800 square feet of common area on the ground level, according to McShane. Residents will use an underground parking structure with 104 slots and an additional 143 surface spots.
