Holiday Guide: Sounds of the Season

From a handful of carolers strolling through the streets of town, to a full production of The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, enjoy theses sounds of the season to get you in the holiday spirit.

Enjoy a spectacular performance by the men's a cappella ensemble that is the New Tradition Chorus. The group will perform The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year, an all-inclusive show with both Christmas and Hanukkah numbers.

The New Tradition Chorus is an award-winning all-volunteer men's a cappella group that has won 19 medals in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Chorus Contest including a streak of 8 Silver Medals (followed by a Gold Medal in ’01) that remains unrivaled.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year will hit the stage December 1 at 2:30 and 8 p.m. and Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the Watson Auditorium at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 West Lake Ave.

The Glenview Concert Band is set to perform a Holiday Concert on Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. at Glenbrook South High School.

The Concert Band was founded in 1985 and is sponsored by the Glenview Park District. The band is made up of a diverse group of singers, both professional and amateur and play many genres of music including classical, contemporary and popular.

The Glenview Senior Chorus will perform its 30th Annual Holiday Songfest in the Lakeview Room at Park Center.

Led by John Kula, the group sings two and three part harmonies and performs for church groups and senior centers.

Christmas Carolers will be singing Dec. 22 at the Glen Town Center. Between 4 – 6 p.m. the group will be stopping in at local businesses to spread their cheer for the season.
