Police: Hospital Patient Steals Telemetry Monitor

The Glenview Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.

Patient Lifts Telemetry Monitor

On Oct. 16, a patient at Glenbrook Hospital left the facility with a telemetry monitor still attached to him, for a reported loss of $1,600, police said. A hospital employee reported the incident at about 11:26 a.m., according to police.

DUI

On Oct. 14, at about 9:24 p.m., 40-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez, of Glenview, was arrested and charged with felony DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license and driving with no insurance, according to police.

Police say Rodriguez was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash that happened at the 1700 block of Chestnut Ave., and for leaving the scene of a traffic crash after the wreck occurred. He was held for a bond hearing and has an Oct. 31 court date, according to police.

Strange Exchanges

On Oct. 12, at about 10:21 a.m., a bank teller at MB Financial Bank at 2823 Pfingsten Rd. reported that a suspicious person walked into the bank and requested that she exchange a new $20 bill for an old one, police said. The person left, but soon returned and asked the teller to exchange a $50 bill for 25 $2 bills, according to police.

Don't Spray It

On Oct. 12, around 12:51 p.m., a Glenview Park District Employee reported that an unknown offender spray painted the inside of the bathroom in Gallery Park's north pavilion, police said. Damages sustained totaled $425, according to police.

Bling Stolen

On Oct. 13, $50,000 worth of items inside a jewelry box was reported stolen by a resident in the 1200 block of Heatherfield Ln., around 3:44 p.m., police said. The resident said the crime happened at some point between June 12 and Oct. 6, according to police.
