Latest DCCC Poll Shows Schneider With 8-Point Lead Over Dold
Dold spokesman says numbers "laughable."

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recently released numbers from a poll they conducted that shows former Democratic Congressman Brad Schneider holding an 8-point lead over incumbent Republican 10th District Congressman Bob Dold should the two meet in the 2016 10th District general election.
“Schneider also holds a 15-point lead among Independents, an 11-point lead among women, and a 6-point lead among voters who report they are ‘very likely to vote’ in the 2016 election,” according to a DCCC news release issued Thursday.
“After Republican Bob Dold has spent the first 10 months of the 114th Congress crafting secret legislative agenda with his party’s leadership and talking out of both sides of his mouth on every issue, Illinois voters are clearly looking for other options,” said Sacha Haworth of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Brad Schneider’s standing as a former member of Congress guarantees he has the resources and relationships to take back Illinois’ 10th District in 2016.”
But James Sleipan, campaign spokesman for Dold, says the DCCC poll is “laughable.”
“Exactly one year ago, after amassing an embarrassing record as one of the most partisan and least competent members of Congress, Brad Schneider and the DCCC tried to divert attention from his collapsing campaign by releasing yet another laughable poll showing an 8-point lead — just days before voters threw Schneider out of office,” said Sleipan in an email statement. “A year later it looks like dressing up his flailing campaign in make believe poll numbers has clearly become Brad Schneider’s favorite Halloween costume, but given the embarrassment he suffered when he tried this trick last year, the only people this poll should frighten are his donors.”
