What's That Smell?: Burning Smell In Northern Illinois Coming From Canadian Wildfires
Have you been wondering what that "burning smell" in the area is?

GRAYSLAKE, IL - Have you noticed a burning smell today in the area? Well, if so, you are not the only one. And local fire officials say it is not anything that is on fire in town.
Instead, it is coming from smoke that has drifted far south and east from wildfires in Canada.

- And it's not just in Grayslake where people are smelling that smell. Followers of the Lake & McHenry County Scanner Facebook page reported smelling across northeastern Illinois, including in Island Lake, Fox Lake, Crystal Lake and Wonder Lake.
Village officials in towns across the area were alerting residents to the smoky smell. And also letting residents know they may notice a hazy look to the sky.
