The Highwood Chamber of Commerce is excited to host its annual dinner and meeting on Saturday, January 24 at the Highwood Bocce Club. Cocktail hour (cash bar) will begin at 6 p.m., with presentations and dinner at 7 p.m. There will be a DJ, dancing and Bocce, before and after dinner. Tickets are $50 per person, and the event is open to Chamber members and non-Chamber members. Reservations are required and should be made by calling the Chamber office at 847-433-2100. Those planning to play Bocce must bring a clean pair of soled flat shoes.

“We are excited to have the Highwood Bocce Club host our annual meeting and dinner,” says Jennifer Zanotti Ori, President of the Highwood Chamber of Commerce. “The Club has been a staple in Highwood for over 45 years, and it is the perfect example of a hometown Highwood business that has evolved over the years.”

The newly renovated Highwood Bocce Club was first established in 1969, and has played host to the U.S. National Championships and World Cup. The Club has given multiple generations of players the opportunity to enjoy the finest courts and equipment in the country. Most recently, the Club brought in Aurelio Colleoni, a prestigious firm from Gorgonzola, Italy, to install world-class, regulation surfaces on the indoor courts. The Club not only hosts bocce leagues, it’s available for special events and party rentals, making it the perfect spot for the annual dinner and mixer.

“The Bocce Club is honored that the Highwood Chamber of Commerce has included us in their event.” says Lenny Innocenzi, President of the Bocce Club board. “We are hoping to showcase the great amenities of the Club and drive new membership.”

The Highwood Chamber had a monumental year in 2014, and the annual dinner is a way to recognize and thank the fabulous members that made it all possible. The year 2015 will offer new membership benefits and focus on new initiatives such as business after hours events and mixers that will bring ‘edutainment’ to members and guests, and “Girls Nights Out,” that will fill the streets full of women from surrounding communities shopping, dining and visiting Highwood’s mix of merchants.

The Chamber also collaborated with the City of Highwood and The Highwood Historical Society to ‘Celebrate Highwood’ at Highwood’s First Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of City Hall.

This will be another wonderful community based event that will be held annually.

All these events only add to the ongoing series of successful celebrations, including Highwood’s Evening Markets, Highwood Days, Bloody Mary Fest and Garlic Fest, that have gained recognition over the past six years as being some of the best events on the North Shore.

“Our goal for 2015 is to continuously drive business into our wonderful town, let people experience all that Highwood has to offer, and visit new businesses they have never been to,” says Zanotti Ori.

Highwood has a very special business community, which is growing bigger and better each year. The Highwood Chamber of Commerce strives to be the best resource for them. The outpouring of support from Highwood’s residents shows their true love of the town, which is really what makes Highwood the “hot spot” on the North Shore.
