The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Traffic altercation leads to battery charges.

Three men are facing charges after a traffic altercation.

Bryan Weber, 28, of the 700 block of Dobson Street in Evanston, and Stephen Parnes, 48, of the 4400 block of Heritage Lane in Long Grove, were charged with battery. Travis Weber, 34, of the 1600 block of Friar Tuck Avenue in Highland Park, was charged with battery and criminal damage to property after police responded to a traffic altercation near the intersection of Central Avenue and First Street at 1 a.m. June 25. All three were released on a personal recognizance bond with a July 23 court date.

Ravinia dispute ends with police officer getting hit

Ashley Parham, 27, of the 4500 block of N. 122nd Avenue in Alsip, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and obstructing a peace officer after police responded to a dispute at Ravinia Festival between a patron and employee at 12:30 a.m. July 3. Parham disobeyed police direction and subsequently struck a police officer in the face with an open hand. Parham was transported to bond court.

Battery and resisting arrest

James Burdett, 56, of the 0-100 block of Sunset Avenue in Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with battery and resisting arrest after police responded to a report of an unruly subject on the train near the 700 block of St. Johns Avenue at 11:45 p.m. July 3. Burdett was released on a personal recognizance bond with a July 23 court date.

Domestic battery

Matthew Breger, 27, of the 500 block of Ravine Drive in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police responded to a report of a dispute at a residence in the 500 block of Ravine Drive at 1 a.m. July 5. Breger was transported to bond court.

Theft

Someone stole a ring, set of earrings and a checkbook from a secured cabinet in a residence located in the 1600 block of Lake Cook Road sometime between June 25 at 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. the next day. There were no signs of forced entry on the apartment door or cabinet.

Graffiti

Police are investigating two reported instances of graffiti. The first was on the back of a concrete bench (the word SNAKE in black spray paint) on Bartlett Ravine Road. The second on the back of a trailer in the Patten Road parking lot. The graffiti did not appear to be gang-related.

Theft

Someone stole the spare tires from eight used work vans sometime on July 4 from a business located in the 2900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.
