Car Fire At Thorntons On Jefferson
Joliet Police and fire trucks were on the scene shortly after noon Tuesday.
JOLIET, IL — Traffic was backed up on West Jefferson Street during the noon hour Tuesday as Joliet firefighters put out a car that was fully engulfed in flames. A thick cloud of smoke was hovering over Jefferson by the Thorntons station and Joliet police were directing traffic and diverting eastbound motorists to Infantry Drive.
Fire officials told Patch no one was in the car at the time of the fire.
As of about 12:50 p.m., traffic was again moving normally along Jefferson street.
