I-80 Semi Overturns In Joliet, Traffic Reopens

JOLIET, IL - The Illinois State Police issued a press release on Wednesday morning about a semi rollover near Interstate 80 eastbound just east of Interstate 55. Illinois State Police said the crash involved a rolled-over semi in the lanes of traffic. One lane is open at this time. The ramp from Interstate 55 northbound to Interstate 80 is closed. Please use alternate routes and expect delays in this area. No one was hurt.

Around 3 p.m., the State Police announced that the site had been cleared and all lanes were finally reopen.

WJOL news radio in Joliet is reporting that a semitrailer heading east on I-80 rolled over at the I-55 interchange near Troy Township. The news station said traffic on I-80 is now backed up to at least Ridge Road in Minooka. The Illinois State Police also has I-80 eastbound is closed from I-55 near Houbolt Road, the radio station reports.
