Truck Fire Spreads to Garage, Then to House, Then to Other House: Cops

A father and two sons had just returned home when the fire started.

JOLIET, IL — Flames from a burning truck spread to the garage it was parked in, then to the house and then to the residence next door, police said.

A father and his two sons had just returned to their Cumberland Drive home and parked in the garage about 8:30 p.m. Monday, police said. They had reportedly been at the store.

One of the sons noticed smoke coming from the garage, police said, and when the 49-year-old father opened the garage door, he saw flames coming from under his truck.
