Will County Coroner IDs Rockdale Man Found Dead In His Driveway
Rockdale police responded to the 900 block of Parkview Avenue around 8 a.m. Thursday.

A man found dead in his driveway on Thursday morning has been identified as Rockdale resident William Dwyer. The Will County Coroner's Office also said that Dwyer was 67 years old. On Thursday, Rockdale police indicated the man may have been 75 years old.
After an autopsy, the man's cause of death remains undetermined. "There is no indication of foul play," Will County's Chief Deputy Coroner Kevin Stevenson told Joliet Patch on Friday afternoon.
Stevenson said it may take another six to eight weeks to determine a final cause and manner of death for Dwyer, pending further medical tests and toxicology screenings.

On Thursday afternoon, Rockdale police chief Robert Dykstra said that police were relying on the autopsy results to give police guidance on how to proceed with the death investigation. The chief said at the time the man, now identified as Dwyer, may have died from a homicide, but it was just as probable that he died from other means such as from natural causes or a medical condition or possibly exposure to the cold.
Authorities were not certain on Thursday as to how long Dwyer had been dead in his driveway. He had lived at the ranch house by himself, police said.
