A recent online petition has generated a new conversation and built momentum around the possibility of revising the La Grange liquor ordinance to allow for a brewery, distillery, tasting rooms, wine bars, etc.
On Sept. 9, after the formalities of a brief council meeting, the discussion of the liquor laws will commence with a baseline from the village.

- Assistant Village Manager and staff liaison to the Liquor Commission, Andri Peterson will kick off the discussion by explaining past and current liquor laws (like many villages at the time, La Grange was founded as a dry community). She will also share some of the proposals for future ordinance changes that might be considered and voted on by the Village trustees.
- Residents John Janowski, founder of the Change.org (#ChangeLaGrange) petition and Steve Jasinski will speak about the impetus for the petition, how they plan to move it forward and how they feel it would benefit the village.
- We may also hear from La Grange business leaders, possibly a member of the La Grange Business Association who would offer perspective from existing businesses and perceived impact of potential liquor ordinance.
