Bus Catches Fire Near Lake Forest Hospital
No one was injured after a megabus was"fully involved" in fire Sunday afternoon on Route 41.

LAKE FOREST, IL - A coach bus caught fire Sunday afternoon near Lake Forest Hospital.
Fire units from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood extinguished the blaze on Route 41 near 176 with water and firefighting foam. There were 40 people on the bus including the driver, but none were injured. While the bus was “fully involved” in fire, according to the Lake Forest Fire Department, all occupants were already outside by the time units responded.
The bus itself sustained extensive damage, with the cause of the fire remaining under investigation.

The fire caused the closure of southbound Route 41 near Gage Lane for more than an hour.
