Date: July 13 

The Final Score: Waukegan 4, Lake Forest 3 

Titan Top Performers: pitched a complete game (6 innings), surrendering only four runs to keep Lake Forest in the game. doubled in the third inning and later scored a run. also had a hit and two stolen bases. 

What’s Next: The Titans played at home at 5:30 tonight against Lake Zurich in the second round of the District 10 American Legion playoffs. They need to win to stay alive. 

Bottom Line – The Titans scored most of their runs off walks and steals. Lake Forest hit the ball well, but Waukegan played strong defense.

 

Date: July 11 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 13, Gurnee 12 

Titan Top Performers: smacked a grand slam home run, the second of his career, and blasted a two-run homer. Tony Prousis went 3-for-4 while Ryan Ganshirt had a triple. and Bartuch each doubled. 

Bottom Line – The Titans had an early lead, but the score drew close at the end. Lake Forest held on to extend its winning streak to six to close the regular season.

 

Date: July 9-10 (Kokomo Summer Classic) 

The Final Scores: Lake Forest 13, Crown Point 12; Lake Forest 9, Evansville 7; Lake Forest 2, Muncie 0; Lake Forest 7, Kokomo 4 

Top Performers: Marc Corigliano hit three home runs in the four games and had four additional hits. Tony Prousis collected six hits and drew four walks. Luke Turelli pitched four solid innings as well as connecting for a double and a single. Jacob Hellinga threw five innings and only allowed two earned runs. Brian Raymond and Brett Bartuch each played solid defense committing only one error in four games. Brandon Moccia blasted a two-run homer, and smacked a three-run blast out of the yard. Muscarello also hurled a two-hit shutout against Muncie.

Bottom Line – The Titans went undefeated through the tourney to collect the championship title.
