Body Found in Lemont Canal IDed as Chicago Man
The body found in the Chicago Ship and Sanitary Canal in Lemont on April 12 has been identified as Bratislav Srejic, 41, from Chicago.

LEMONT, IL - The body found in the Chicago Ship and Sanitary Canal in Lemont on April 12 has been identified as Bratislav Srejic, 41, from Chicago.
Srejic was identified at the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office through his dental records. Police said there were obvious no signs of trauma on the body.
Lemont police said they responded to the canal at around 6:30 a.m. after a call from a barge worker. The police worked with Lemont Fire Department and pulled the body from the canal near 16100 Des Plaines River Roaad.

Illinois State Police Investigators arrived and processed the scene. Police added that the body was clothed, but not wearing a shirt.
Police said the exact cause of death is pending further studies. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Illinois State Police at 847-294-4400.
