How to Help the Lemont Couple Who Lost Home in Fire

A Lemont couple whose home burned down Sunday is  devastated after losing everything to the blaze.

Hope and Friendship Foundation is spearheading collection efforts for Rich and Trisha Kuczkowski, who weren't at home when flames swallowed their house in the 300 block of Division Street Sunday afternoon. Their two cats perished in the blaze.

The foundation is accepting donations to help meet the family's immediate needs, such as prescriptions, clothes, and personal care items. Monetary donations, in addition to giftcards to Jewel-Osco, Walgreens, Target, Kohls, Gas Cards (Speedway/Citgo) and Walmart will also be accepted.

"Every picture, every item of clothing, every memory of their kids and grandkids gone," said Terri O'Neill-Borders, of Hope and Friendship Foundation. "Every single possession:  TVs, dishes, prescriptions, framed art, furniture, personal care items, everything gone."

Those interested in helping the couple can donate via the Hope and Friendship Foundation website.
