The team went undefeated to win its first-ever tourney championship title.

Lemont Indian’s 9U Baseball Win Aurora City of Lights Baseball Tournament

The Lemont Indians went 5–0 to capture the championship in the Aurora City of Lights Baseball Tournament.  In the championship game the Lemont Indians and Oswego Cobra’s both threatened with rallies, but it was the Indians that eventually took advantage of them in a 3-2 win. 

In the bottom of the sixth inning with the bases loaded, Joseph Pender singled in the winning run, giving the Lemont Indians 9U team its first-ever tournament championship.

On the road to the championship the Indians beat the Plainfield Diamond Kings twice (9-1, and 8-7), the Indians also beat both the Batavia Bulldogs and Minooka Rivercats (6–0 and 15–3) respectively.

Backed by outstanding fielding and quality pitching the Indians only allowed 13 runs in the entire tournament.  The Indians beat 2 of Illinois’ top 10 ranked teams along the way to the championship.
