Truck Fire Cleanup Closes Lanes of I-355 Southbound

A truck fire has shut down two lanes of I-355 southbound between I-55 near Bolingbrook and 127th Street in Lemont, with traffic backed up for miles.

Congestion is solid, and drivers should expect heavy delays. A suggested detour reroutes motorists southbound to I-55 to southbound Route 53, to eastbound 135th Street to Archer Avenue.

When the fire was first reported around 1:30 p.m., southbound traffic was being rerouted onto I-55.
