Village trustees will discuss a new downtown interpretive park, Heritage Quarry recreation and the Old Quarry Professional Building during their monthly committee of the whole meeting Monday night.
The Lemont Junior Woman's Club recently approached village officials about creating an interactive park in the downtown area that would incorporate the town's wildlife, geography and history.
Plans for the park—which would be located near Safety Village, 55 Stephen St.—will be discussed by the village Monday night.
During the meeting, trustees will also discuss a proposal by Dr. Umana Patel, owner of the Old Quarry Professional Building at 15884 W. 127th St. Patel is requesting approval for a medical office development consisting of two buildings—one of which would be a three-story, 32,000-square-foot facility.
According to the agenda packet, neighbors of the property have expressed concerns over the proposed building height, the light that would be visible from the building at night and the potential noise of the rooftop mechanical units.
Despite the concerns, the village's planning and zoning commission was generally supportive of the proposal when it was reviewed in May.
Also on the agenda Monday night is a discussion on recreation in the Heritage Quarries.
The committee of the whole meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at , 418 Main St. For more information, visit www.lemont.il.us.
