September 18, 2015 - The Green City Market, located in Lincoln Park, has been named by USA Today as one of America’s Top 10 farmers’ markets. Board member Elizabeth Richter and Executive Director Melissa Flynn will describe the history and mission of the market and the contribution it and its more than 50 farmers and vendors make in connecting with chefs, restaurateurs, food organizations and the public to provide access to locally produced, healthy food.

Since its founding in 1998 by the late chef, author and entrepreneur Abby Mandel, the non-profit market has worked to encourage and promote local, sustainable agriculture. The market has expanded to include two additional satellite locations in Chicago. Following the presentation there will be copies of the Green City Market Cookbook available for sale.
