A free garden walk will be hosted by the Gardeners of Central
Lake County on June 28, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The walk will include five
specialty gardens in Libertyville and Mundelein. Enjoy the outstanding gardens
at your own pace on a self -guided tour.
The walk highlights gardening of every variety, including native
plants, trees and shrubs, lush containers, grasses, sun perennials, over 100
varieties of hostas, shade gardening, water features, an amazing Asian garden,
an in - progress woodland restoration, and much more -the walk promises to
delight and inspire visitors! Rain or shine!
Maps and directions for the free walk will be available at Cook Memorial
Library, Aspen Library and Fremont Library mid June and also on our website, www.gclcil.com
Founded in 1949, the Gardeners of Central Lake County is
dedicated to encourage, promote and stimulate the interest and knowledge of
amateur gardeners. Our club promotes civic pride through its work in Libertyville
Gardens community gardens, planting and maintaining the rose garden at Cook
Park, providing a horticulture scholarship and presents informative and free
programs to the public.

The club meets the second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at
the CrossLife Evangelical Free Church at 431 S. Austin Ave. Libertyville
