In an effort to thank area businesses for their participation in the school’s Passport to Libertyville coupon book fundraiser, the Libertyville Cooperative Nursery School organized the ’ on Saturday. 

and were the honorees in the cash mob.

The cash mob resembles a ‘flash mob,’ only instead of dancing, participants are urged to patronize a certain store on a certain day and time, and spend a certain dollar amount in an effort to boost sales for local small business owners. Cash mobs have sprung up around the country as shoppers hope to encourage small businesses that have struggled through the troubled economy.
