Police Blotter: Criminal Damage to Property; Obstructing

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

March 20: Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property

At 3:00 a.m. police responded to a report of a dispute at a home in the 900 block of Bartlett Terrace. Michael J. Brankis, age 30, was arrested. Police took Michael Brankis into custody charging him with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. He was processed and then later released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 8, 2014, 8:45 a.m. court date at the Lake County Courthouse. 

March 20: Obstructing a Peace Officer, Traffic Violation

Patrick S. Skinner, age 19, of 1301 Blackburn, was stopped for speeding at 9:45 p.m. on Milwaukee Avenue near Winchester Road. He refused to turn over his driver’s license and insurance to police and he was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. Skinner was taken into custody and his was vehicle towed. Skinner was processed, to include a citation for speeding, and was then later released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending an April 16, 2014, 1:30 p.m. court date at Mundelein Branch Court.
