Two Libertyville Utility Taxes Being Extended

Libertyville trustees have extended the telecommunications and electric taxes that were set to expire April 30 for an additional year, according to an article in the Daily Herald.

The taxes were put in place in 2009 to combat the loss of other revenue during the recession. The telecom tax remains at 6 percent and the electric one was reduced from 5 percent to 4.5 percent, the article states.
