Woman Rescued After Falling on CTA Red Line Tracks (UPDATE)
A good samaritan jumped into action to save the woman at the Clark/Division Red Line station.
CHICAGO, IL - A woman was rescued Wednesday morning after she ended up on the CTA Red Line tracks at the Clark/Division stop on the North Side.
A good samaritan waiting for a train at the station jumped on the tracks to save the woman, pulling her between two train cars to safety.
According to the CTA, Red Line trains were re-routed to the elevated tracks between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown for an hour-and-a-half after the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m.
While reports from several witnesses on Twitter indicate the person jumped on the tracks, CBS-Chicago reported that the woman told police she was sitting on the platform and fell on the tracks. She was not hit by a train.
The train is stuck in the Clark/Division station, technicians are clearing everyone out of the station saying, "the train is out of order"
