Person Struck, Killed by CTA Blue Line Train
An apparent "suicide by train" around 7 a.m. had service disrupted for more than an hour.

UPDATE: The CTA announced at 8:40 a.m. service has been resumed.
CHICAGO, IL - A 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a CTA Blue Line train after jumping onto the tracks near the Belmont station.
The CTA reported a “medical emergency” occurred on the tracks shortly after 7 a.m. that temporarily suspended service between the Jefferson Park and Western/Milwaukee stations.
A Chicago Tribune reporter later confirmed the person was killed after jumping in front of a train.
Police now confirming a person was killed after jumping in front of a Blue Line train near the Belmont station at 7 a.m.

Train service was not delayed from Jefferson Park to O'Hare.
