Eman Sahloul of Orland Park among Lincoln Academy’s 39th annual class

Benedictine University senior Eman Faith Sahloul, the daughter of Mazen and Rosemary Sahloul of Orland Park, was among 58 of the state’s outstanding college students honored by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois in ceremonies at the state capital in the fall.

The Lincoln Academy’s Student Laureate Awards are presented for excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities to seniors from each of the state’s four-year, degree-granting colleges and universities, and one student from among all the community colleges in Illinois.

“These students have exhibited a personal commitment to excel as seen by their remarkable academic accomplishments,” Illinois Governor Pat Quinn said. “They serve as role models to all Illinois students. With hard-working and dedicated young leaders such as these, Illinois and the rest of the nation can look forward to a bright future.”

Each student receives a Student Laureate Medallion, a $1,000 educational grant and a certificate of achievement. The group is the 39th class honored by the Academy.

Sahloul is a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major with a 3.878 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
