SEASPAR’s New Lisle Facility to Open in Lisle Park District Recreation Center

SEASPAR’s New Lisle Facility to Open in Lisle Park District Recreation Center
Lisle, IL – This Saturday, May 31, from 1:00-3:00pm, SEASPAR will debut their new Lisle facility in the Lisle Park District Recreation Center at 1925 Ohio Street, Door #8, on the east side of the building.  SEASPAR will be celebrating the Grand Opening of their new programming space, including a multi-sensory room and activity room that feature cooking, art, computer skills, social activities and an additional site for the EAGLES program!

Wonders, the multi-sensory room at the new SEASPAR Lisle facility, contains interactive equipment that pleases the senses in a variety of unique and soothing ways. Participants can feel the vibration of the music as it plays through the Learning Chair, follow the motion of the bubbles as they move and change colors within the bubble tubes, make music with the wave of their hand, enjoy relaxing aromas, and make water ripple as they dip their toes into the pond projected on the floor.

Since 1976, SEASPAR has provided year-round dynamic programs and quality recreation services for people with disabilities residing in its eleven community service areas in the western suburbs, including the Lisle Park District. The EAGLES program, just one of the many opportunities SEASPAR offers, is a your-round life skills enrichment program designed to assist adults with disabilities, ages 18 through 50, transition to life in the community. For additional information about Wonders, EAGLES and SEASPAR, please visit SEASPAR.org.

As part of SEASPAR's continuum of recreation programs, inclusive services are provided for residents who wish to participate in general recreation programs at the Lisle Park District. For many individuals with disabilities, participation alongside their peers without disabilities is a beneficial and rewarding experience. SEASPAR provides services to enhance existing programs by training staff, adapting activities, developing behavioral modifications and/or providing additional support staff. Those requesting an inclusion aide for Lisle Park District programs should contact the Recreation Center at 630-964-3410 at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the class.

The Lisle Park District provides a variety of leisure activities for people of all ages throughout the year. Park district facilities include Lisle Community Park; the Recreation Center which houses Gentle Learning Preschool, SEASPAR, the Senior Center, and multipurpose rooms; Sea Lion Aquatic Park; River Bend Golf Course; Wheatstack – A Midwestern Eatery & Tap and numerous neighborhood playgrounds and parks offering amenities such as tennis courts, ball fields, walking paths and picnic areas totaling close to 400 acres. It is the mission of the Lisle Park District to enrich the quality of life for people of all ages by providing constructive and creative leisure opportunities.
