Missing Will County Man Found Dead at Abandoned Farm

Authorities believe 53-year-old Daniel Delia of Frankfort Township died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

WILL COUNTY, IL - Daniel S. Delia, the 53-year-old Frankfort Township man reported missing by Will County police last week was found dead Saturday afternoon at an abandoned farm in a rural area near Manhattan, the Herald-News reports.

Patrol officers discovered Delia's body around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Manhattan-Monee Road and Kankakee Street. He appeared to die of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while inside the 2014 black F-150 that was reported missing with him last week.

Delia, who was recently diagnosed with a form of terminal cancer, was last seen at his home on Monday, Feb. 13. He left behind his wallet, phone and a letter addressed to family.
