Driver Dead After Van Crashes into Tree, Catches Fire

Naperville, IL — A person is dead after their van left the road, struck a tree and burst into flames.

Naperville police say a 2015 Dodge ProMaster van was traveling southbound on Washington between Bauer Road and 14th Street at around 1:43 a.m. Monday when the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and burst into flames.

The name of the driver is not being released pending notification of family members.

Washington Street was closed between Bauer Road and 14th Street throughout the investigation and was reopened at approximately 5:50 a.m.
