Mayoral Candidate Sly Will Attend Debate

Ron Sly, candidate for New Lenox Mayor, will attend Tuesday’s mayoral debate.

Sly originally said he would not attend the debate, but changed his mind after learning the debate will be moderated by a neutral party.

“I was originally approached to participate in the debate by two of my opponents’ supporters and there was no indication the debate would be run independently,” Sly explained. “Once I learned members of the media would be involved in creating the questions and moderating the conversation, I was all in.”

Ron Sly will debate opponents Andrew Englebrecht and current Mayor Tim Baldermann at 7 p.m. in the Warrior room at Lincoln-Way West High School.
