Builder in Northbrook Mansion Lawsuit Defends His Work

The home’s owners are suing him for $6 million, but he blames them for the home’s lack of completion.

Builder in Northbrook Mansion Lawsuit Defends His Work

The homebuilder being sued by a Northbrook couple for shoddy work on their yet-to-be-finished 29-room home says he is not at fault, but blames the owners instead for not paying his company for its work and taking too long to make decisions about materials, according to an article in Crain’s Chicago Business.

Adam Shaf, who did not comment in a previous Crain’s story about the lawsuit, says Kenneth and Marcia Rapoport owed his company $268,000 when he ended his contract with them last year, the article states. While the Rapoports say he used poor materials in the construction, Shaf says it was the Rapoports fault for taking too long to make decisions on materials.
