Nearly $4K Worth of Polo Shirts Stolen From Northbrook Store

Another nearby business was the victim of four offenders who stole "numerous" bras and panties.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

RETAIL THEFT

The complainant, a store employee in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd., reported that four offenders entered the store and stole numerous bra and panties at 3:39 p.m. on May 6. Two of the offenders had distracted the employees while the other two stole the merchandise. Northbrook Court Security had followed the offenders out to the parking lot and located two vehicles used by the offenders. All of the offenders fled the parking lot in a second vehicle prior to the arrival of officers. Approximately 20 bras and 40 panties were recovered from the van the offenders left behind in the parking lot.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

Noah T. Bethard, 19, 1455 Shermer Rd. Apt. 101C was charged with open burning on Park District property without a permit at 3:35 p.m. on May 6 in the 100 block of Anets Dr. Officers responded to a report of a subject that had started a fire by a fire pit.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Roberto M. Guzman, 21, Glenview was stopped at Patriot and Willow roads at 10:51 p.m. on May 5 and charged with improper lane usage, no proof of insurance and driving while license suspended.

THEFT

The victim in the 2300 block of Shermer Rd. reported that she left her wallet on a locker room bench on May 6. An offender stole currency and a gift card from the wallet. The loss was about $115.

RETAIL THEFT

Lorena F. Oliva, 40, North Chicago was charged with retail theft at 5:38 p.m. on May 5 in the 4100 block of Dundee Rd. The complainant, the store’s loss prevention agent, observed the defendant switch sales stickers on three items causing a $14 difference. The defendant paid for the three items at the register with incorrect stickers and left the store. The defendant was issued a local ordinance citation by the officers and released at the scene.

RETAIL THEFT

The complainant, a store employee in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd., reported that while on the sales floor he observed an offender enter the store and walk directly toward the Versace/Tory Burch eyeglass frame display counter around 1:30 p.m. on May 5. The complainant observed that two Versace frames and one Tory Burch frame were missing from display. The complainant believed that the offender was concealing the frames under his jacket and asked if he needed assistance. The offender replied he was just looking. The officer and the complainant later observed on the store video that offender appeared to have concealed three pairs of glasses inside the front of his jacket and exit the store. The store estimated the loss between $700 and $900.

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION AND DRIVER’S LICENSE

John P. Moran, 45, Elk Grove Village was stopped in the 800 block of Downing Street at 4:32 p.m. on May 7 and charged with suspended registration and driving while license suspended.

RETAIL THEFT

A complainant, a store employee in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd., heard the store’s sensor alarm activate at 5 p.m. on May 3. She walked to the front of the store to investigate and noticed polo shirts from a display table missing. The complainant estimated that between 80-100 shirts were taken which amounted to a $3,750 loss.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Cecilia A. Riamos, 30, Chicago was stopped at Dundee and Midway roads at 6:21 p.m. on May 3 and charged with driving while license suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

RETAIL THEFT

Natalya V. Serdyukova, 46, Deerfield was charged with retail theft at 2:20 p.m. on May 2 in the 800 block Willow Road. The defendant was stopped by store loss prevention after she was observed removing $51.51 in merchandise from the store without paying for it. Officers issued the defendant a local ordinance citation and released at scene.

THEFT

A store employee in the 800 block of Willow Road reported that an offender removed a black and lime green in color Ghost Kato 5 bicycle from the store without paying for it at 4:26 p.m. on May 2. The value of the bicycle is $1,100.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Cynthia Jenkins, 45, North Chicago was stopped at Pfingsten Rd. and Walters Ave. at 7:38 p.m. on May 1 and charged with expired registration and suspended driver’s license.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Pearl M. Pam, 55, Wheeling was stopped in the 100 block Skokie Highway on May 1 and charged with driving while license suspended.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Miguel A. Gomez-Ramirez, 31, Chicago was charged with illegal use of flashing lights and driving with a suspended license at Waukegan and Shermer roads at 5:23 a.m. on May 1. A complainant was driving on the Edens Expressway at Tower Rd. when the defendant began shining a light into his vehicle. The defendant’s vehicle followed the complainant’s vehicle as both vehicle’s exited at Dundee Rd. The complainant had contacted Northbrook Police about the vehicle following his vehicle and officers stopped the vehicle on Shermer Rd.
