Village Hall, Park District Announce 4th of July Partnership

No matter what, the first Thursday of July will be the fourth. And despite changes in the way Northbrook plans its Independence Day festivities, it seems the celebration will go on.

Village Hall and the Northbrook Park District issued a joint press release on Thursday announcement their partnership in this year's 4th of July celebration, along with the holiday's theme — "Unity Through Community."

"With the recent notice that the 4th of July Association was no longer able to coordinate the events, the Village Board and Park District Board have authorized staff to work together to plan the festivities," the press release reads.

No word on pancake breakfasts or police and fire softball, but the release refers to a full day of "traditional festivities."

Volunteer recruitment will start in April, according to the release.
