Firefighters Battle Blaze in Vacant Home
Fire crew battle heavy flames and smoke at a vacant home Sunday night in Bridgeview.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL -- Firefighters knocked down a fire in a vacant house Sunday evening.
Bridgeview firefighters responded around 9:26 p.m. in 8600 block of South 78th Avenue. When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was showing by the gas meter and flames were shooting through the roof.
The house was reportedly vacant the past 18 months. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The state fire marshal was requested. Crews remained on the scene for hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
