UPDATED: Man Dead in Apparent Suicide at Advocate Christ Hospital, Police Say

Oak Lawn police are investigating a possible jumper at a parking tower on the Advocate Christ Medical Center campus Tuesday afternoon.

Parking Tower D at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where a man appears to have jumped to his death from the tower on Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE, 6:16 p.m. Jan. 26, 2016 -- Oak Lawn police remain on the scene at Advocate Christ Medical Center, 4440 W. 95th St., investigating what appears to be a suicide that occurred at a parking tower on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that a white male reportedly jumped from Parking Tower D on Kilbourn Avenue, off of 95th Street, around 4 p.m.

Div. Chief Randy Palmer, of the Oak Lawn Police Department, said the man has died.

The garage is located across the street from the hospital’s emergency room and outpatient pavilion.

Several investigators were at the parking garage, which was heavily guarded by hospital security officers and police.

Rumors of a possible murder-suicide also are not true. Palmer said there was no shooting or other victims.

Original story, 4:14 p.m. Jan. 26, 2016 -- Oak Lawn police are on the scene investigating a man who is believed to have jumped from a parking tower Tuesday afternoon at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Patch has learned that an individual described as a white male jumped from a parking tower across from the hospital’s entrance D.

“It’s very early yet in the investigation,” said Div. Chief Randy Palmer, of the Oak Lawn Police Department.

No information is available on the man’s condition. Patch will update this story when more information becomes available.
