Oak Lawn Man Killed In Indiana Plane Crash
Authorities have said Azam Zayed was the only occupant of a plane that crashed Thursday morning in Valparaiso.
VALPARAISO, IN - An Oak Lawn man was killed Thursday morning when his plane crashed at the Porter County Regional Airport in Valparaiso. Authorities have identified the victim and only occupant of the plane as Azam J. Zayed, the Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana and other media outlets have reported.
Zayed was the owner of the plane that crashed at the airport at 10:46 a.m. The plane, a single-engine Piper Comanche, was leaving the airport when it crashed. The cause of the crash was still unknown as of later Thursday afternoon. The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation.
