Tinley Park Splashed Green for Irish Parade

South suburban residents turned out in droves for the parade. Check out our gallery.

Tinley Park knows how to get its green on.

The Village celebrated St. Patrick's Day just over a week early, with its annual Downtown Tinley Irish Parade Sunday, March 9. Thousands lined Oak Park Avenue—a turnout Mayor Ed Zabrocki called one of the highest the parade has seen in 15 years.

Led by Chicago Ireland’s Consul General in Chicago Aidan Cronin, the parade struck off from Central Middle School and marched up Oak Park Avenue. Throngs of people grabbed curbside seats to get a peek at the parade, which included local businesses, cub scouts, and politicians. Parade-goers decked out in green flocked to local watering holes for beverages and food.
