DUIs at 60 MPH, Not Stopping for Emergency Vehicle

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

Wouldn't Stop for Emergency Vehicle

Annette K. Valos, 34, of the 1600 block of N. Newcastle Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence after police said she improperly passed an emergency vehicle while going eastbound on North Avenue at 1:47 a.m.

Police said she didn't stop when the car activated its emergency lights. Valos failed frield sobriety tests, police said, and was also charged with illegal passing of an emergency vehicle. 

60 MPH Speed

Kashamia T. Acker, 20, of the 100 block of W. Chicago Avenue in Maywood, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 4:47 a.m. Police said Acker was seen driving 60 mph westbound on Chicago Avenue and later failed field sobriety tests. Acker was also charged with speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol. 

THURSDAY, MARCH 28

Hit Another Car

Jose G. Guitierrez, 24, of the 700 block of N. 15th Avenue in Melrose Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 8:52 p.m. Police said he hit another car in the 700 block of Bonnie Brae and failed field sobriety tests. Gutierrez was also charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance.
