Police in Oak Park are continuing their investigation of what led to gunfire in downtown Oak Park.
Authorities have been tight-lipped about what took place around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, except to say officers arrived at a service drive located between Lake Street and North Boulevard in the 800 block and began interviewing witnesses and an "alleged victim" of gunfire, a 20-year-old Oak Park man.
No injuries were reported.
"He reported he was involved in an altercation," said Police Cmdr. LaDon Reynolds, adding that the incident "appears isolated."
According to Oak Leaves, "A shell casing was recovered in the parking lot between Unity Temple and the apartment building at 855 Lake St. Police used a canine patrol to sweep the area, dispatch reports said."
