The River Forest Township Board of Trustees is holding a special meeting on Tuesday, May 13th to share information about the services provided by the township, to field questions from residents and to receive input and ideas from the community.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the River Forest Civic Center Authority Building, 8020 Madison in River Forest.
The informational session is being called to enhance residents' understanding of the township and the services it funds and directs. The board will also dedicate some of the meeting to a question-and-answer period, and another portion to hearing residents’ idea and suggestions for programs and services in the areas of seniors, mental health and youth services.
In addition, Supervisor Carla Sloan and trustees will provide information on how residents can volunteer for one of the township’s committees.
Earlier this year, the township board invited the River Forest Village Board to a joint public meeting. All interested residents, including members of the village board, are encouraged to attend the May 13th meeting.
Along with its assessor’s office, the township’s focus is working with agencies that serve youths, seniors and those seeking mental health services in a variety of programs.
In addition to Sloan, who began as supervisor one year ago, the River Forest Township Board consists of Trustees Anna Marie Romeo, Mary O’Brien, Veronica Belmonte and Mark Kelty.
