Woman Robbed on Iowa AvenueA man grabbed an Oak Park woman's iPhone from her hand as he walked past her in the 800 block of Iowa Avenue around 10:45 a.m. The total estimated loss is $519, police said.
Door DamageSomeone damaged a door knob in the 900 block of North Taylor Street sometime between 8 and 8:30 p.m. The estimated cost of damage is $35, police said.

Bike TheftSomeone saw a man use bolt cutters to cut the cable lock of a women's bike and ride away on it in the 800 block of Lake Street around 1 p.m. The total estimated loss is $200, police said.

Man Arrested for Selling Gift Cards in Parking Lot
Forest Park police arrested Robert Anderson, 32, of Oak Park, for selling gift cards without a business permit in a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot around 6 p.m. Two witnesses told police they found out about him through the internet, and that he sells gift cards for less than the full amount. He was also processed on a warrant out of Sangamon County and released on bond.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 31
Harrison Gay, 19, of Oak Park, was arrested for marijuana possession around 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Circle Avenue in Forest Park.
Because of Gay's behavior on the bike he was riding through alleys, the time he was riding and a recent rash of car burglaries in the area, police stopped Gay to find out what he was doing. Gay told police he'd taken his sister's bike out to "blow off steam" after an argument with his mother, police said.
