Mom Stole Clothes to Pay for Son's Prom Shoes: Cops
A 43-year-old Chicago woman faces retail theft charges after Orland Park police say she made off with $900 in women's wear, to help pay for her son's prom.

The woman told police she planned to sell the 93 pieces of clothing from the Victoria Secret 'Pink' store to buy her 19-year-old son shoes for prom, Chicago Tribune reports.

The woman is charged with one count of felony retail theft and one count of possession of an anti-theft-detection device, which is a misdemeanor. She was given a July 28 court date and was released on $10,000 bond.
