Driver Falls Asleep at Wheel, Crashes into Semi: Police
The 21-year-old Plainfield man was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

A 21-year-old Plainfield man said he fell asleep at the wheel, which caused him to drift into another lane and collide head-on with a semi tractor trailer.
According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, the Plainfield man, of the 2000 block of Maple Ridge Dr., was traveling westbound on Route 126 just west of Hopkins Rd. at around 2:43 a.m. Feb. 12 when he fell asleep at the wheel and went into the oncoming lane.
He crashed into a 52-year-old Berwyn man traveling westbound in a trailer.

The Plainfield man spun off the road and was trapped in the vehicle. He was extricated and flown from the scene to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries that were serious, but not considered to be life-threatening, according to police.
The Berwyn man went off the roadway to the south, but remained upright and was uninjured.
