George Truckenmiller, 88 of Palatine

Truckenmiller, a more than 40 year Palatine resident was a Korean War Army veteran, a Mason and a Shriner. Services will be held Tuesday, November 13.

Funeral services for George E. Truckenmiller, 88, of Palatine since 1959, will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S. Rohlwing Road, Palatine, IL 60074: where he will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. The Reverend Paul Hayes will officiate.

George was born July 3, 1924 in Springfield, Ill. and he passed away peacefully, November 9, 2012 in Palatine, surrounded by his family.

George and his wife Doreen were married on April 26, 1958 in Chicago. He was employed by Illinois Bell for 40 years and was member of Christ Lutheran Church, Palatine, since 1959.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.  He also was a Mason and a Shriner; with memberships at the St. Paul’s Springfield Lodge No. 500 A.F. & A.M., and the Ansar Temple, Springfield, Illinois.  His hobbies included model railroading and photography.


Survivors include his Wife, Doreen K. (nee: Hill) Truckenmiller; children, David (Lois Kapteina) Truckenmiller, Karen Truckenmiller and Kathy (Greg) Britton; grandchildren, Andrew and Peter Truckenmiller.


George was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Emma E. (nee Hardin) Truckenmiller.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials would be appreciated to Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S. Rohlwing Rd., Palatine, IL 60074.
