Theft

On Christmas Day, Dec. 25 at 4:30 p.m., residents living in the 1100 block of Whytecliff Rd. were sitting down to dinner and noticed a dark figure with an orange cap approaching the nativity scene in their front yard. Before police could be called, the unknown offender took the Virgin Mary statue in the nativity scene, which is valued at $100.

On Dec. 26 between 9 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., residents in the process of moving into a unit at 3000 N. Bayside Dr. brought a Sony Bravia television in from the moving truck and left it in the lobby as they brought up additional articles to the unit. When they returned, the television, valued at $1,100 was gone.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Sometime between Dec. 29 at 10 p.m. and Dec. 30 at 5:40 a.m., a black 2006 Chrysler sedan was parked in the 1900 block of N. Williamsburg Dr. when it was entered by unknown offender(s). Numerous contents were strewn across the car, and a Pioneer CD television and vehicle thermostat controls were removed. The value of the damage and items taken is unknown.

Retail Theft

On Dec. 30, Andrejs Jestamonovs, 43, of the 1100 block of Miller Ln., Buffalo Grove, entered Walmart at 1555 N. Rand Rd. and concealed auto headlamp lights on his body and passed the last point of sale without paying. Jestamonovs was charged with local ordinance retail theft. The lights are valued at $35.88.

DUI

Tamara Johnson, 24, of the 7000 block of Old River Rd., Rockford, was charged with driving under the influence at 12:32 a.m. at the intersection of Quentin Rd. and Northwest Hwy. Johnson also was charged with improper lane usage.

Monroe Brooks, 23, of the 800 block of Lilly Ln., was charged with driving under the influence at 4 a.m. at the intersection of Dundee Rd. and Quentin Rd. Brooks also was charged with having a BAC of more than .08 and leaving the scene of an accident on private property.
